I'm Glad You're Here.
I'm an educator, director, theatre maker, and theatre critic/journalist. I hold an MFA from the University of Central Florida in Theatre with a focus on directing and TYA. I also hold a BA from Brigham Young University in Theatre Arts Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am the Program Manager for UVU's TYE (Theatre for Youth and Education) Center. In this role, I work closely with sensory friendly and ASL interpreted performances, the TYA touring productions, and Noorda Theatre summer camps and classes.
From 2020-2024 I had the joy of building a theatre program from the ground up at a culturally and linguistically diverse Title 1 middle school in Salt Lake City that served as a magnet for special education, and I developed a theatre for special education course while there. I have taught theatre at the elementary level doing arts integration, as well as the secondary and collegiate levels. I am a the vice president for the Utah Theatre Bloggers Association, host of PodcastTYA, and husband and father to a bunch of Savages who are my whole world.
